ONLINE TRAINING OVERVIEW

NARHC has a wonderful partnership with Essential Learning, leading e-learning vendor in the health and human service industry.

NARHC members will have unlimited access to Essential Learning’s Community Health Open Library that comprises over 800 hours of online training including courses on compliance and OSHA, quality improvement, leadership and workforce development, as well as medical and behavioral health care.

These online courses and training management tools will be able to assist Rural Health Clinics in meeting their day to day operational training requirements as well as provide an opportunity for their staff to meet on-going continuing education requirements at an affordable rate that is affordable and may not even be an option for the clinic without our agreement.  Course work is designed to meet regulatory and compliance training for National accreditation organizations such as Joint Commission and AAAHC as well as many state specific requirements.

NARHC is also looking forward to adding their content to make RHC specific requirements and policies available to its members through the learning management system.  In partnership with the Essential Learning, NARHC is offering an online training solution to its members.

Benefits of Online Training

Online training is a dynamic, cost-effective tool offering interactive learning that creates a positive experience and motivates learners.

Cost-effectiveness - Using a blended learning approach saves valuable training dollars. Combining classroom training with online training offers a blended learning solution that meets the unique needs of rural health clinics. Online training provides cognitive skills, while classroom training provides hands-on skills.

Time-effectiveness - Staff can take courses at various locations. There is no limit on the number of participants and no time restraints on scheduling training. Online training also solves the problem of trying to get staff and trainers in one place at one time.

Consistency - Even when trainers use the same lesson plans, delivery of the training varies from class to class simply because no two people and, therefore, no two training sessions are exactly alike. Online training provides the same, consistent training to staff - there are no obvious or subtle differences.

Centralization - All documentation can be maintained in one location, staff progress can be monitored on a daily basis, and reports are readily available to document completion of training.

"This is an excellent tool for RHCs to use for training employees.  Essential Learning has an extensive library of courses which can be used onsite at the clinic at flexible times, and the program can be tailored for the specific needs of each clinic. We are excited to offer this as a benefit to our members as additional value to membership in NARHC," says Gail Nickerson, Vice President, NARHC.
