Would anyone be willing to share information or provide your policy regarding injections done in the clinic and if you allow meds to be sent to you by an outside pharmacy to be injected by your staff - IE: Prolia. Thank you in advance. Joanne Bean, McCrary-Rost Clinic, Lake City, IA 9/3/2020 @ 12:18:00 PM

For Prolia we send the script to the pharmacy and the patient picks up and brings back to the office to have administered by the nursing staff. We do the same thing with Depo-provera. We don't get any reimbursement for the administration for Medicare and Medicaid patients as it is a nurse visit, but we are at least not out the cost of the medication.

In a previous clinic of mine, we did the same with the long-acting injectable antipsychotics.
