Now that cases are ramping up in our area, I am hearing a bit about Hazard Pay. Is anyone else doing Hazard Pay, and if you are, how do you determine, especially in a clinic setting, who qualifies? Are receptionist considered candidates? Would appreciate any feedback! 12/9/2020 @ 5:02:00 PM

We are doing hazard pay in our facility. There are several ways this is determined though and depending on exposure is what determines the amount.
For example: Nurses and people COVID testing, get a higher HP rate than a receptionist. Our policy is that you wear an N95 mask when treating patients at all times... period. Thus the rate of exposure is greatly decreased for a receptionist so they get a lower rate. Lab people get a different rate.... then we have some who literally NEVER have patient interaction and they don't receive it at all. It just depends. If you are wanting more specific information such as how we set our rates and what they are etc, please email me directly! I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have! We have strongly felt that everyone in our organization is in this together
and therefore everyone received an additional hourly rate through the 1st of the year. For those providing prolonged care to COVID patients, primarily in our hospital and nursing home each received an additional shift rate. -- Scott Focke, Clinic Administrator Family Center for Health Care at Citizens Health 310 E College Dr. Colby, KS 67701 785-460-1745 http://www.cmciks.com "Our Family Taking Care of Your Family" -- *CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: *Â This e-mail transmission contains confidential information, some or all of which may be protected health information as defined by the federal Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule. We are doing the same. Everyone was at risk and everyone is getting the same Hazard pay rate.
