We have a physician moving out of state for 1-2 months, but they are going to provide telemedicine through one of our RHC's.  The patients will come into the clinic to utilize telemedicine.  Does a provider have to be present in the clinic during the time that a patient is coming in to utilize telemedicine?  For example, on Wednesday, we have no provider at the clinic, but the telemedicine service would be available and we would have patients come in (and use our staff to take vitals and room them for the televisit).  Is that allowed/not allowed?  Does anyone have a link or citation I can refer to.  Thank you!

You can provide NO patient care services without a provider in the clinic. No telehealth, no labs, no shots.

Hi Patty,

Thank you for your quick response- do you have a place where I can find the actual text/policy/citation? I've read many documents today but can't find exactly where it states that.  I appreciate your feedback!
