The Biden Administration announced yesterday that various COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates will be coming to an end soon. Please note that as of now the mandate is still in effect and does not yet have an official end date. RHCs must continue to comply fully with the mandate until it is officially rescinded.

Part of the White House statement read "Additionally, HHS and DHS announced today that they will start the process to end their vaccination requirements for Head Start educators, CMS-certified healthcare facilities, and certain noncitizens at the land border. In the coming days, further details related to ending these requirements will be provided."

We will share details with the RHC community as they become available!

Today, CMS released a final rule ending the COVID-19 health care staff vaccination requirements.

"Therefore, in this rule, we are withdrawing language on COVID-19 health care staff vaccination
requirements issued in the staff vaccination IFC. COVID-19 vaccination policies and procedures
for health care staff will no longer be required under the CoPs, CfCs, and requirements."

While federal rules typically go into effect 60 days after they've been published, CMS states that:

"Since facilities are no longer operating under PHE circumstances, and considering the lower policy priority of enforcement within the remaining time, we will not be enforcing the staff vaccination provisions between now and [INSERT 60 DAYS AFTER DATE OF PUBLICATION IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER]."
