Recently, HRSA announced that RHCs can now apply for National Health Service Corp (NHSC) site certification without being located in a geographic or population Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA). Once NHSC site certified, RHCs can apply to receive an auto-designation for a facility HPSA. After an application is approved the auto-designation score will be provided to the RHC and state Primary Care Office. This will provide your facility and staff access to HPSA benefits despite not being in an area HPSA.

You can view a recording of the NHSC New Site Application webinar here. The new site application cycle is open now through June 22, 2023.
