Good Faith Estimate Details

The Good Faith Estimate provision of the No Surprises Act will go into effect on January 1, 2022. NARHC hosted a webinar on December 14th outlining these new rules. Following the webinar we prepared a summary of the regulation and common questions. I encourage you to review the slides and recording here as well as this Q&A document. CMS also released their own FAQ on the Good Faith Estimate policy here.

NARHC understands that complying with these Good Faith Estimate rules will be very administratively burdensome as this regulation asks RHCs (and all outpatient offices) to provide diagnosis, treatment, and cost estimates before the patient is ever examined. NARHC is already engaging with CMS, Congress, and other provider organizations to identify ways to lower the administrative burden of this policy.

We will continue to update the RHC community with additional information. If you have additional questions please contact Sarah Hohman, Deputy Director of Government Affairs at Sarah.Hohman@narhc.org.
