Sarah Hohman, Director of Government Affairs

07/05/2023
Last month, ten NARHC members representing RHCs across the country visited Washington, D.C. to meet with their Senators and Representatives.

Please join NARHC in thanking this year’s fly-in participants for their critical advocacy and the time they devoted to further championing the RHC program:

  • Mandy Shelast (Michigan)
  • Charles James (Illinois)
  • Denise Schentrup (Florida)
  • Peggy Gautreau (Louisiana)
  • Erin Aune (Montana)
  • Barry Martin (Kentucky)
  • Elizabeth Ellis (Texas)
  • Brooke McDowell (Georgia)
  • Danielle Hamann (Iowa)
  • Aubrey Haynes (Arkansas)

Focusing on NARHC’s top 3 current policy priorities: The Rural Health Clinic Burden Reduction Act, Medicare Advantage, and Telehealth, attendees participated in a total of 30 meetings with their Members of Congress and staff!!

NARHC looks forward to expanding our fly-in next summer and welcoming even more members to Capitol Hill, but as a reminder, you don’t ever have to set foot in D.C. to make your clinic’s voice heard!

Please email Sarah.Hohman@narhc.org with any questions on how to contact your Members of Congress, and read NARHC’s upcoming summer newsletter for an article from Michael Tackitt, NARHC’s 2023 Fellow, to learn about his experience in federal advocacy!
