CMS Releases CY26 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule

Good afternoon RHC community!

This afternoon, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) Proposed Rule.

As a reminder, this annual rule provides regulatory updates to the fee schedule and also contains a section specifically for RHCs.

This year's rule is aligned with the HHS priorities under Secretary Kennedy in improving the care of chronic diseases through new and modified care management reimbursement opportunities.

We'll be analyzing the RHC and related provisions and providing a full summary in the next week.

NARHC will later submit comments on behalf of the RHC community, which will be due on September 12.

If finalized, these changes would go into effect January 1, 2026.
