Support Rural Health Clinic Regulatory Reduction Bills this Congress
Sarah Hohman, Director of Government Affairs, NARHC
Rural Health Clinic champions on Capitol Hill, Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) and Representative Jill Tokuda (HI-02) are looking forward to introducing three important regulatory reduction bills when they return to D.C. this September.
- Rural Behavioral Health Improvement Act: Would remove the arbitrary 49% threshold on the amount of behavioral health services that RHCs can provide.
- Modernizing Rural PA and NP Utilization Act: Would update RHC physician supervision requirements by aligning them with state scope of practice laws.
- Rural Health Clinic Location Modernization Act: Would update the RHC statute to fix an issue caused by the 2020 Census, ensuring that areas of less than 50,000 remain eligible for RHC status.
As always, the most powerful voice in advocacy efforts is yours! Together we can increase the attention on these important bills and remove outdated federal barriers within the RHC program.
Please consider sharing your organization’s support for these pieces of legislation at the links above. Endorsing organizations will be listed in a letter sent to Congressional leadership when these bills are officially introduced.
