NARHC Webinar: Rural Health Clinic Advocacy in an Election Year

Event Overview

Rural Health Clinic Advocacy in an Election Year

One of the primary responsibilities of Congress is to fund the federal government. As you may have noticed, in a divided Congress, fulfilling this responsibility becomes particularly difficult.

This fiscal year, we have seen Congress punt their responsibility to fund the government three separate times by passing temporary “continuing resolutions.” Indeed, we may be five months into the fiscal year before we have final appropriations deal for fiscal year 2024 OR Congress may need to punt again!

Throw in the fact that this is an election year and the uncertainty around national politics is impossible to predict. However, all this uncertainty does not mean that policy development (and advocacy) stops. On the contrary, many important health policy decisions will be made in spite of the chaos.

Hear from NARHC's D.C. team to learn more about our advocacy focus in 2024 and beyond. We will discuss NARHC’s current regulatory and legislative policy priorities, including Medicare Advantage, the RHC Burden Reduction Act, and telehealth.

Speakers:
• Nathan Baugh, NARHC Executive Director
• Sarah Hohman, NARHC Director of Government Affairs
• Jeffrey Burke, NARHC Deputy Director of Government Affairs
