We are a provider based RHC. Would anyone have info regarding billing CPT 96127 (brief emotional/behavioral assessment, per standardized instrument)? Since CPT 96127 has a PC/TC indicator of 3 it is a technical component only service. Per the Medicare RHC processing manual for provider based RHC, any technical component services, such as labs and technical component of EKG's, etc., should be billed using bill type 131 and processed under our provider based NPI to be paid separate from our professional claim which is paid under our AIR.
